Rock Wall tutorial part 2.
Here we start with the actual model, making a quick base mesh in Maya which we then export for a lot of deforming and altering in Mudbox.
This tutorial uses Autodesk Maya, Mudbox, Adobe Photoshop and Xnormal, be aware that these probably won't be the most current versions for you but they're what I have so deal with it.

@maxstudiosalkesero zbrush is better and can do much much much more, mudbox is easier and more user friendly. Thats really all there is too it.

@jcole60brit well not exactly zbrush still has some nice features for composing textures and has it's 2.5d mode which allows you to things like sculpt multiple bits than keep layering them up with out a performance hit since when you done editing once piece it converts it to pixels plus a z value so other things can be placed above or under it.

@passerby500 Exactly this. Once blender allows sculpting layers and the zbrush style "only-display-actual-polys-while-stationary" editing style, there will be no need to buy Zbrush 4!

@passerby500 i find that mallet fast makes some uneccesary marks if youre not careful and can be pretty destructive, if you want a brush that's easier to control and a bit smoother i think trim dynamic would work better, or even hpolish

@jcole60brit yes blenders brusehs work really good i actually prefer it's scrape brush to mudboxes one and the mallet fast in zbrush but i find blender cant take as many polys with good performance as zbrush and there are no layers.

@gisbon543 i found malletfast brush to be the best alternative ti scrape.
