Dr. Steve Robbins begins his keynote on diversity and inclusion with a very bad Japanese accent - to make a point about mental models and giving people a chance.

  • I am a motivational speaker and management consultant now. I use to be a professor. I've also dabbled in stand-up! LOL

  • Is he a stand-up comedian or a Professor?

  • @JusteunMusicien He does have a good point though. People with their native language being English do have a higher tendency than anyone else to condemn foreign dialects under the assumption that their language is the main language in the world therefore everyone should know it. That is one stupid world-view you know.

And I hope you've deliberately justified his statement with your discriminative sentence, if not - you're an idiot who's just made a self-contradicting objection.

  • He is NOT Japanese!! I think Korean or Chinese

  • people who's talking about his accent are idiots. it was just an attempt you retards, no need to over speculate about whether he did a poor job on talking like a japanese.

  • This is Chineise Accent.

  • This is not "a bad Japanese accent".

It's actually a normal Japanese accent.

  • @whatifnet the same credentials as noam chomsky

  • English is such an odd language... Here is a joke I heard: If the 'gh' in 'laugh' has an 'f' sound, the 'o' in 'women' as a relaxed 'ih' sound, and the 'ti' in 'nation' has a 'sh' sound, then "ghoti" spells "fish"! Welcome to the English language.

  • This would be awesome if it went the other way round.
