"Here, There and Everywhere" originally appeared on the Beatles' 1966 album Revolver. Emmylou Harris' beautiful version is from Elite Hotel, her second album, released in December 1975. The CD is available on the Rhino label. Emmylou's version is as good as, if not better than the original.

  • I think Paul McCartney could write superb ballards at the drop of a hat. Like Elton John or David Gates could in their hayday. The thing is, here is the definitive performance of a perfectly crafted ballard - that haunting harmonica is perfect! She loved the Beatles and here that love comes to the fore - sublime.

  • @SPINGOREB Check out "Till I Gain Control Again" which I have also uploaded.

  • Sorry for being sexist but what a beautiful woman singing a beautiful song. Our wedding song. Even though McCartney wrote and sang it Emmy Lou Harris owns this song hands down.

  • Rare to like a cover better than the original, but in this case, I certainly do. Simply beautiful.

  • How totally wonderful.

  • @SPINGOREB Pigs can fly. it has to be said.

  • @SPINGOREB In McCartney's hands, it's just a silly little love song. Typical Macca fluff. Give it to Emmylou, and it grows a soul. Exquisite is too mild a word. There aren't enough superlatives.

  • Better than the Beatles - it has to be said.

  • I love the Beatles ..no doubt. But, this version is fantastic....Also Judy Collins "In My Life" is

    a classic Beatles cover.

  • Beautiful. Found this accidentally. Music at its best.

  • @Redrowan2000

There is nothing sexist about acknowledging a beautiful woman.
