This is a song by Ernest Charles that I performed for my studio class on November 12th, 2009 in Bristol Chapel at Westminster Choir College. My voice teacher, Harold Evans, is on piano. I'm sorry the audio got cut off at the end.
QUINN!! I was looking at this song on youtube and clicking through randomly. About halfway through listening to the video, I looked up and saw that it was bristol. Then I looked even more closely and discovered that it was you! You look so different!!! :D How cool that I just stumbled upon your video lol.
Do everything you can to fake it even when things sometimes go horribly wrong. After that phrase you can pull the voice in somewhat and add in more tender and introspective thoughts. You were also noticeably swaying during the performance which can really draw the audiences attention away from the music. Lastly, your basic tone is good, but it lacks the cover/color needed and sounded wispy at times.
Great song! One of my early voice teachers picked it for me and I've loved it ever since. Overall a decent performance, but a few things to think about. The main thing is that you really need more emotion/intensity/confidence. That alone can cure a lot of the issues you're having. Especially at the end of the song when the high note "Never, never sing again" is the climax of the composition. You gave up on it and showed the audience you were displeased by shaking your head.
