While at a mall with her mother and brother, Carol Anne suddenly loses sight of them while looking into the eyes and face of a menacing-looking old man. She runs from his advances toward her, but is quite unsuccessful in doing so. She seems to almost remember this man as he eerily begins to sing to her. Diane and Robbie find her in a complete daze and thank the mysterious "stranger", who weirdly insists it was his pleasure to be with her. They begin to leave but Carol Anne freezes, taking one last hard look at this spooky person.
