Over five million people have died during the past decade as a result of the war in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Few people are aware of the unimaginable scale of human suffering, death, and destruction that has occurred in this vast country deep in the heart of Africa. In the aftermath of this brutal war, children have endured the brunt of the suffering. This 67 minute film documents the plight of thousands of street children living in Kinshasa and confirms the wide-spread accusations of child witchcraft, torture and child prostitution. The film also examines the efforts to reintegrate demobilized child soldiers, displaced refugees, and orphaned children following the eruption of the massive Nyiragongo volcano, near the city of Goma in Eastern Congo. These heroic efforts are finally bringing some measure of hope and stability to the lives of the Congolese people.
Dan Balluff's "Children of Congo: From War to Witches" is a must see film, showing individuals and organizations that are implementing positive change for the children and the people of the Democtatic Republic of Congo. (Pan African Arts Culture Film Festival, Oct. 2008).

  • I love French when it has an African accent like in this

  • @throbule , blacks need to come up with a plan to come out of the awful sitaution those crooks got them in, all for raw material. too much has been taking away from them and too little is giving back to them. I feel blacks have no business with white men god, or arabic god; Africa had enough god of it's own. Oh, there will never be peace cause we are always the ones , who want peace. never the ones , who has stolen africa concept of time and space from them.

  • @throbule , I don't do arabic or european religion. so, I wouldn't know about offering prayers. I simply enjoy my 10thousand yrs old west africa faith, which is one of the mean reason Haitian are hated in the western hemisphere, cause we believe in our native voudou faith from west africa. I think the problem is that blacks have been strip so, much of who they are; and force to take on their oppressors faith, believe, behavior.

  • @achcunam:

Rather than offering up ten thousand prayers for peace and harmony in the world, it would be better simply to outlaw the one evil of Islam.

  • @throbule , Inclosing I would never dear, make fun of Congo or any other africa country cause Haiti suffer from the same issues of 1. leaders being paid to bodly harm to their own peoples 2 leaders that are impress with those, who don't give a crap about them , just want to use to get to their raw material. 3 so call educated, that align their selves, with internationial to hurt and abuse their own, flesh of their flesh and blood of their blood. we are in same fight. PEACE!

  • @throbule , this image is put out there to project the congo peoples in the light of abusing their own future , which is the children but the same person the post this, didn't even bother to post a video showing how congo, is a place that is still being pillage , til this very day. It's the old trick in the book abuse the victims to justify the taking. What Belguim owes to congo; is a great debt. wouldn't it be nice, if they could ,try to straight up some of choas they cause there.

  • @throbule , I am Haitian, For cry out sake my country dirty laudry is always on television, news paper, internet, radio, and conversation. Congo has a story to tell, just like Haiti does, like any other place has to tell the world. I could careless, what peoples with superficial knowledge on black peoples thinks. If anything thinks all blacks are the same, them something is wrong with them. I don't know what could be done, about black victims being abuse via media.

  • @achcunam:

Well so I got your intention wrong, but don't you realise the signal you sent out to racists and black people regarding abuse?

They will think ALL black people do the same, which is far from true.

We are not all like that and we do not all treat children like that.

These things are even happening in America with white children and news reports from Europe and England have cases of chidren with so called demons inside them. Children are not witches - adults are the cruel monsters.

  • @throbule , First of all I am black, second you misread my comment; it is awful how the world and blacks treat each period, full stop. Congo is dear to my Heart cause I had learn a while ago about , how King Neopold II, may be dead but his zombie is still alive in congo. All black countries are victims of globalization, liberalization and what ever, adjustment of their economic the IMF, World bank and other so call Help the poor Orgs can think of. I am Haitian, and I love the poor of the world.

  • @achcunam:

What the hell do you mean?

You are such a stupid racist foghorn!

What is really sad is that there are fat asshole people like you sitting behind a computer and saying black people treat each other bad.

You need a slap and a decent education.
