I know people usually edit happy and upbeat videos for birthdays but on my list of final projects, I had written long ago that this would be made for you and I wasn't going to change that! I tried to make this a gentle and beautiful vid and I really hope I succeeded because your vids are so effortlessly fantastic and I still envy your flow and I don't think I'll ever stop! You are one of the most genuine and adorable people I know and I will always be thankful we became such close friends! I'm glad your birthday was filled with happiness and I'm sure all the others will be full of joy and all the love the world can give you dear, because you really deserve the best. I don't think I could have chosen a better song for Kenshin's story than "My Love." It is poetic, melancholy and sung brilliantly by Sia, an artist who is extremely talented and deserves more recognition. This vid took a surprisingly short amount of time to plan out and edit, although several segments were edited over and over to make the story cleaner.

If you have not watched these movies, I strongly recommend you do, regardless of whether you've watched Rurouni Kenshin or not...although if you haven't, I urge you to see the series, too. I will say in advance that the first, Trust and Betrayal, one of my favorite movies, has graphic violence but the love story is powerful and poignant. I know the second film, Reflections, has an ending many fans might not approve of, but you should see these films as part of a different canon, one that embraces dark realism and can't be solved with happy endings. I love both stories simply because they explore sacrifice and compassion with individuals damaged in some way, and I appreciate that Tomoe and Kaoru are not compared. Love is not a one-time occurrence in life and I did my best to express the depth of passion Kenshin shared with both his wives.

Although i prefer the first movie as well (and admitedly the tragedy and suspense of tomoe and kenshin's romance) i also love kaoru! i cant help but feel bad for her! :( i love her and kenshin together. after seeing the first movie i just find myself watching kenshin and tomoe's relationship with more passion, but even more so i supported when kenshin would be able to move on with kaoru. lovely video! very emotional. you are truly a gifted editor! you captured this anime VERY well. breathtaking!

aww you shouldn't hate Tomoe...Kenshin would have probably become a monster if he had never loved her and it's with her blessing that both he and Kaoru get to live happily ever after! but yeah, the whole OVA storyline is very sad ^^;

@pikashipper4eva i see the ova, both of them, and right now i think i hate Tomoe hehehe she is like a shadow in Kenshin's heart u.u but u have right, the first part is better because tell things that we dont see in the anime, but i like Kaoru the most so i luuv the second part :p the only bad part, to me, was that everyone suffer...Kenshin is sad, Kaoru is sad, even Kenji because her dad never was in home...but i guess that in the end was a good finale :] Thanks 4 everything!! 4 u i saw the ovas

the first movie is about how Kenshin became the Battosai and fell in love with Tomoe and is, at least to me, better than the second movie because it stands on its own and is just so wonderfully tragic...when I tell people about the movies I always recommend the first one, Trust and Betrayal, a bit more because it's more of a -movie- and not a series-attached OVA like the second one. but both are must-watch in my book! (:

well the second movie, Samurai X: Reflections has Tomoe in it as well but it's mostly from Kaoru's perspective so watch that one if you want her love story with Kenshin!
