@ 1:50 minutes into clip. "lean not on your own understanding"...Barker, this is called guidance. You should understand this if you are a parent. You, as a parent, are in a better position to know what is beneficial or harmful to your child. So, you guide them in their understanding. Imagine giving young children freedom to do whatever they wish without "enslaving" them with your rules. I don't think they would be alive very long with a diet of candy and jumping off roofs.

At 7:40 D'Souza finally admits that his method is ATTACK. He doesn't enlighten, educate, or even just answer a question to the best of his knowledge: he attacks, denies and twists. If he has to dive into the farthest, vaguest corners of philosophy or give a dishonest representation of history, he will gladly do that. All atheists that I have watched him debate do not play foul. Dinesh stands behind a fence and says "you can't catch me". We are steadily tearing down his fence though.

I don't like when people do not answer the question.

Infinities VS Prime mover

@FujiwaraNoGo but God doesn't have to make you an automaton in order to end suffering, he could have simply made you perfect so that you have freewill but can't sin, just like how he has freewill but can't sin, and souls in heaven have freewill but can't sin.

Interesting how Dinesh doesn't explain why we have physical evil. For example, viruses, earthquakes, painful diseases,etc. Why would an all knowing and loving God create a world with these things in it? This has nothing to do with humanity's "free will".
-
Free will doesn't explain shit!
-
"this is the first time my intellectual life and, if you will, my faith, have come together."
That explains alot....

I love how he says "I learned at Dartmouth" that to debate a viewpoint, you have to first (incorrectly) represent their side of the argument, and then attack that "because otherwise you are attacking a straw man".
Dinesh, your opponent has already stated his side of the argument, you don't need to reinvent his position - reimagining his position is the definition of "straw man". I find it very hard to believe Dinesh has no idea how ridiculous his constant evasion of the rules of debate are.

@hawklanzs ridicules? lol
85% of people believe in a god? Don't know where you can your stats from, mate. 85% of Swedes are non-believer if that's what you mean. Perhaps you think Sweden is "inherently disastrous"? First of all, atheism is not an organisation and therefore cannot "contain any value" as you put it. Values (laws, responsibilties, duties, etc) are man made. So really you need a deluded belief in a supernatural supervisor in order for you to be behave... Some sort of celectial police and judge... Sad!!
