I herd some of them are serrated, dose this help by shaving some of the leaf away inside, or dose it just separate the leaf?

When this was invented. There were test done on ever which way to make the draw work. The inventory found that by pushing a rod all the way thru the cigar and leaving the rod in for a few minutes was the best way. Which separate the tobacco leave. The reason is tobacco is spongy and will snap back all the other ways.

um are you suppose to put the poker in that far?? some guy said you only put in to half the cigar.

Yes You must push the rod all the way thru the cigar or you will not get a good draw.
