Bloodlust (Venom Tribute)

Originally began as a 5-piece called Guillotine with Clive Archer on vocals, Alan Winston on bass and Cronos on rhythm guitar. Archer and Mantas met at a Judas Priest concert in 1979 which led to Archer and Abaddon (both of the band Oberon) joining Guillotine.

Cronos switched to bass when Alan Winston left the band a week before a gig - his decision to plug his bass guitar into a guitar amp is credited with the development of his trademark "bulldozer bass" sound. The line-up was further trimmed down to a three-piece following the first demo session when the rest of the band decided they prefered Cronos' vocal style to Archer's.

Illness and passport problems prevented Jeff "Mantas" Dunn from joining the early part of Venom's At War With Satan US-tour. He was temporarily replaced by Dave Irwin and Les Cheetham.

There are no ever-present members in the Venom line-up. The only original member currently in the band is Cronos. The band briefly split after "Calm Before the Storm" (recorded without Mantas) before reforming without Cronos. They split again after "The Waste Lands" and later reformed with the classic line-up - Abaddon and Mantas both dropped out over the years to be replaced by Cronos' brother Antton and former member Mykus, respectively. Mykus has since been replaced too.

Cronos appeared as guest vocalist for Enthroned (Bel) on "Towards the Skullthrone of Satan", on Hammerfall's "Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken" (Knights of the 21st Century) and on the Probot CD. He also did backing vocals on Cradle of Filth's "Dusk and Her Embrace" (Haunted Shores) and Massacre's "Inhuman Condition".

@oskoret Agreed. The first time I ever saw a Venom video I was terrified. Cronos looked like the devil incarnate. Their whole look and sound just scared me. I knew music would never be the same.

Venom did it FIRST. Before anyone; and Chuck Schuldiner agrees, so screw anyone that disagrees. Just because some bozo's want to rewrite history to justify their BS opinion doesn't change that fact that the Black Metal album was the start of everything. Other bands took it and ran and there were some GREAT bands (Celtic Frost, Bathory, Death, Sodom etc) but Venom did it first.

@Smellslikeflospirit im 16 and listen to real, good, and dark metal too. I hate how alot of kids categorize Guns n Roses as a metal band those guys suck and Motley Crue, Poison, Enuff Znuff, Great White all suck all glam bands suck
