He's trying to help the best he can, what really matters is bringing in the spiritual dimension as he calls it. If that happens, in my opinion, things improve no matter what is done, if it is done from that place.

Nationalism is an idiotic pursuit. It is a deluded idea to beleive you belong to one group of people outside of another, and I thought this is what Buddhism taught! Maybe i've just picked him up wrong

Starving oneself to death on the steps of the UN may not be violent against others. But the fasting protesters are being violent against themselves when they disregard a basic need like eating. While I like the idea of peace processes on individual, couple and group level, I wonder how to deal with conflicting needs: The group chooses the means of a hunger strike to get public attention, but the group members need food. Peace should include balancing the needs of the group and its members.

He is great. Fasting is powerful. But 100 people are not allowed and can't escape Gaza to get to NYC.
