The overall message of this video wasn't meant to be funny. Placating to terrorists and dictators won't make these people nicer to us. The only thing appeasement does is embolden these people to commit more acts and see far they can go. Looking at history, if anything, should tell you that by now.

What America needs is a strong president who uses the American military to kill terrorists likes Osama Bin Laden and uses military force to help overthrow (and kill) dictators like Qaddafi. Now if only we had such a president! Wait, we do? And he's a Democrat? Now I'm just confused.

I was reading an article that suggested that "Conservative" American humor doesn't work. Another reader on that page disagreed, and linked this video as an example of "conservative humor done correctly." But does anyone older than 6 really find this type of cheese funny?

(3 years later, I know) - It's worth noting that the U.S. has a long history of supporting brutal dictators (look at our record in Chile, Iran, South Africa, Egypt, and many other places). This isn't some strategy of eager-to-please liberals - it comes out of Cold War anti-Communist policies. Remember that it was mainly in the Reagan/Bush years that the U.S. supported S. Hussein and (arguably) O. bin Laden. The idea that U.S. support for dictators comes mainly from lefty pacifists is just false.
