I'm surprised at SeikoP using VY1 for the first time. VY1 Stands for "Vocaloid Yamaha 1. It was the first vocaloid to be developed by Yamaha alone. The vocaloid does not have a gender. It is meant to be genderless, meaning it sounds male and female.

She did an amazing job at making it sound so awesome. She really knows how to use the vocaloid programs. I like this song just as much as her "Queen Nereid".

SeikoP is releasing her mini album called "暗夜月想" of 6 of her songs. It will be available on sale on November 14 2010.

  • joer por alguna rasonm aura solo song d miski loooooooooooooool

  • i feel like im in japanese narnia :O

  • @Oyasumi52 Gumi isn't made by Crypton...

  • Characterless maybe, genderless? No way. It's plain to my ears VY1 is female, and VY2 is male. They sound very similar to Crypton's Gumi and Kaito.

  • @Aunpaidintern Really? Wow, awesome. I continue to be awestruck at the sheer level of dedication of the Vocaloid faithful (with exhibit A being the MIku Miku Cup). How soon can we see it?

  • VY1 and VY2 do not have official designs. A contest was held where character art was entered and the best looking one with the most votes was given first place title. NOT the official design of the VY's. Yamaha just wanted to see how most people thought the voices looked. VY1 and VY2 are still Avatar-less and Gender-less voices.

  • @hawaiidkw It is now official that VY1/Mizki is a woman. Some kind of contest was held. That contest was for people to submit their design of VY1 as they depicted her, I've always refered to VY1 as a she, and the winning image is that of a woman. VY2 also got a design but I that's besides the point.

  • @thedarkestsea2point0 She has the most distinctive Japanese accent of all the Vocaloids. BPlats was most likely trying to evoke a traditional, Enka-style singer, as opposed to a pop/rock stylist like Meiko or LIly. When done right, she can sound better than any other Vocaloid, but it does take a lot of work (the VY series is specifically marketed toward professionals).

  • BPlats created the VY series as Vocaloids completely free of baggage. No characters or stats = no need to be cute, funny, silly, or crazy. Also no big marketing tie-ins, no big buzz, no concerts.

If songs like this are any indication, though, I have a feeling that's going to change.

Oh, and VY1 is a woman. C'mon, it's so obvious.

  • love the light piano towards the end. makes the song sound so much more innocent. <3
