This is just a little video for some of the members over at http://www.rpgmakervx.net/index.php?act=idx so that maybe they can pick up a tip or two from watching this video and make their own RTP faces!

Anyways this is just a video in which I recorded myself editing an RTP face to create my own, with some added commentary to it every once in a while, so it's basically a small tutorial on how to make your own RTP face.

This face took me 58 minutes to finish, with the hair taking the longest of all.

  • how do you change its colors (The hair)

  • pretty awesome. I remember the time I was using just paint to edit my face and char sets. But besides that I really should buy the RPG-Maker VX I´m still using the RPG-Maker 2003 >.<

  • ...yeah, you're just a tad bit OP when it comes to photoshop >,<

    Good job/tutorial

  • I'm the 9999 Visitors WOHHOO!!!!

  • @KellySmith555

I still would take drawing myself over this lol just because I can make it look exactly how i want it lol still cool though

  • interesting technique, but I still prefer drawing by hand, scanning, and 'Photoshop'ing it afterwards.'

If I might put my two cents in, I would recommend re-sizing and rotating the other eye slightly, if you choose to follow this technique of character creation. It seemed to work in this example *probably because of the hair*, but in most cases, you will end up with a 'head-on' angle for the eyes when the character is facing at 3/4. This may give your character an... odd appearance.

  • umm what program did you use?

  • Thank you, now do the characters face is very simple! Thank you again!

  • the hair on the left part made it worse.... (it's too big)

but it's cool for a tutorial

  • 58 minutes... is that faster or slower than drawing a face and coloring it?

Then again learning to draw takes time, but so does learning to use the computer programs like Photoshop. Which one is less time comsuming....? Very intresting product however. Bravo.

Love the Music, I was watching it, thinking...where have a heard this...then I remembered...yes! The Credits of Moon! Didn't see the movie...but yes...I watched the heck out of those credits. ^_^

(All good things are time consuming.)
