We laid naked and still, like cadavers under a white sheet. Rising from the dead in the dead of night, I fed on your kiss. Parallel like the tracks on which a train would glide, we tried but failed to separate. We were just a tangled mess of arms and legs. Your eyes looked like shooting stars, scorching the sky with lovers fire. And we burned up the atmosphere of this bed. I became consumed, swallowed up by you. I traced the outline of your skin like an artist inspired by everything. Your hands and lips were a gusting wind as you sent my mind to greater heights. Out of breath, using up this precious oxygen, I pulled you close so I could breathe you in. Nothing else seemed to matter much, but the rise and fall of our gasping lungs.
