@jmat412 youre right i never noticed that before then when the other guest compliments her i suppose that changes dick cavette compliments her tioo she knda sighs with relief. it sucks that audiences from tv shows back then didnt give her what she deserves. i never wudve seen it like dat

Always wish Joplin could play in front of Joe Cocker's [far better] back-up band. The Holding Company and other line ups never seemed quite up to the task.

I'm gal-traditionally pretty-- thought Janis was very stunning..she had such soul.. put so much into her music that guess it carried thro..I grad HS 1969 so we prob approx same age..that whole "pretty" thing was big to me--all my girlfriends LOVED Paul McCartney--uhuh..nah get me guy w heart & soul kinda drifted btwn George & John..loved Dylan..married 1st time= pretty SOB--2nd Native American heritage--cool dude fight like cats & dogs x 30 yrs

i feel so sorry for janis, all she wanted to be loved. but all she got was stood up by 1 man after another and called the most ugly guy at the college she went to in texass. so she was not a beautyqueen, but she did not deserved the bullshit people gave her.very sad she was so rejected in life..when people are not loved they die a little at a time day after day and self destruct, just lik she did. then people ask why,are we that stupid ?

"You go, girll!" .."Rock on, Janis!!", .. .. ..Why does the "top comment" only have sorrow for Janis? ..Can't everybody see the love here?? ..Ms. Joplin has 6 talented musicians backing her on stage, playing hard, with everything they have! ..my God! ..If I ever deserved so much support, I would be so happy, so proud, so satisfied! You so deserved that support, Janis, ..you gave everything you had, just as they did, ..and it sounded soooo good!!!!
