Queen, Fashionista, Designer, Mother of the Cosmetic, Perfume and Fashion Industries.

Born in Austria 1755. The last Queen of Versailles.

The violent force used by so-called "Revolutionaries" to bring about "change" in France, was unnecessary and wrong. Marie's birthday parties and victory celebrations did not send an entire nation into deficit. France lost money due to the fact that King Louis XVI gave a large contribution to the Americans for their Revolutionary War. France was given more land in the Louisiana Territories, with future prospects to come in addition to a repayment schedule. The King's support illustrates his being open to Democratic changes. If the Americans could have a Constitution, it's perceivable that France should have one as well. And in 1789, at the hand of the Sovereign, they did! Why then, did the people not voice their needs and concerns, rather than believe tabloid stories and storm Versailles with torches and axes?

Marie Antoinette was a Fashionista and a visionary. Her vision would later become the Paris that we know today. Style was part of her indentity. She was worth her weight in gold, yet she was never appreciated or understood. Marie never did say "Let them eat cake" which was published in a cheap tabloid. She saved France more money than credited by refusing royal diamonds. The necklace King Louis XV made for Madame Du Barry, alone, would cost Millions in USD today. When the King died and Du Barry left Versailles, Marie Antoinette would have no part of that necklace. However the "Revolutionaries" tried to frame Marie Antoinette for the necklace, even though it was documented that King Louis XV made the necklace for Du Barry, who'd even worn it in public.

Coppola's movie "Marie Antoinette" shows how harmless the King and Queen were. Its focus is entirely on the visual aspects of Versailles. History reveals that the farmers suffered from poor planning in their own right, leading to failed crops and a need for crop rotation. Robespierre incited the peasants to blindly charge when France went into debt, blaming Royalty for all. The people never did formally address the Royal Court. They followed a renegade 'leader' and began to riot instead. The poor needed to perceive a regimen where they could better themselves and progress. The barbaric acts that took place instead, were more to compensate for.

It is not a punishable state to be wealthy and happy. Marie Antoinette knew how to celebrate her life and make the most of things. It was her nature. She was an Artist. She was entitled. Marie Antoinette's influence altered the landscape, and made France 'France'.

Marie Antoinette's world was beautiful, quaint and elegant. She was an inspiration.

France signed Peace Treaties with The Dutch in 1783, in addition to America, England and Spain. Thomas Jefferson was American Ambassador to France. There was no slavery in France. Louis was inspired enough by the Americans to write "The Rights of Man". New ideas were being embraced. Work toward a Constitutional Monarchy had begun. The "Revolutionaries" were opportunists that took credit for all of these accomplishments, as they incited riots due to the "bread shortage". These renegades blocked people from participating in the Third Estate Assembly, and blocked all communication between People and Court. The Napoleonic Wars were to be better? France had a powerful position in Europe prior to what was to pass for a "Revolution". Given just a little time, France would have easily profited from their investment in America.

This colorful montage shows only Marie's artistic vision inside of the palace, while turmoil brewed unseen, outside of it. It also shows the many facets of the influence of Marie Antoinette.

Contrary to popular belief, Ms. Antoinette was not beheaded! Marie and family made it across to Austria in January 1790, with secret help arranged by her brother Joseph II, and her nephew Francis II. There is said to be a Death Certificate in Marie's name for 1810 in Austria.

France was meant to be like a flower, and Marie Antoinette knew this.

Trivia: Marie Antoinette paid a dowry of 300,000 Crown in Gold, when she married Louis August. This would be worth Millions in US dollars today!

  • The performances Marie Antoinette put on for friends at the Opera House in Versailles, were ahead of their time, a precursor to 20th Century musical performance.
