Surprise, surprise!! The first ever song throughout my entire career that I dare to put up that is sung in SWEDISH!!!! I sadly erased this one from the
original reel-to-reel tape by mistake when I sold my pro studio in 1984, but last year I found a copy of it on a badly damaged cassette tape! I've since restored it the best way possible with the help of the digital gear I have now to make it listenable again (although it still have it's spots of clearly noticeable drop-outs, some hiss and 'unstable' fluttering sound, which was impossible to get rid of). The song itself was written as far back as 1915 by one of Sweden's most famous poets of all time, Daniel "Dan" Andersson (born April 6th, 1888 and died September 16th, 1920).
If my memory serves me right, I must've recorded this one in the early '70s, or perhaps towards the mid '70s. The synthesizer like sound heard is
really coming from a Multivox electric piano (manufactured and distributed by St. Louis Music in the USA) which I imported as a 'merchandise sample' from the U.S. in the mid '60s from a firm called Claude Breton Exports in New York. The rest of the instruments on the recording must've
been my Kay flat-top acoustic and the now infamous Hagström 'plank'! You English speaking Tubers won't understand a single word of what I'm
singing about here, I reckon (but I'd be grateful if you could lend an ear or two to the music, which is pretty nice, I think), so I'm pointing this at you
Scandinavians out there and hope you may get at least a little bit of thrill out of this unusual 'sidestep' in my long and illustrious career, OK?!

  • Great!! Not the stupid covers! I like your covers, but who needs it?

  • @Ollischniepel Thanks for the write up, but...WHO NEEDS IT? I'm not sure I grasp what you mean here, but you tell me! It happens to be one of my favorite Swedish FOLK SONGS, written by one of the greatest poets this country has ever produced, Dan Andersson! But, naturally, my rock background has changed it around and made it into yet another of my very own versions! I hate copy cat covers (as you should know by now), which in my musical book is a total waste of time, not to mention talent!!

ROCK ON!!

  • Yes, my lovely, it's an old Swedish folk song, touched up by yours truly with a bit of rock influences in it! I found it by accident on an old cassette and thought it might be appropriate to upload it! Thanks a lot for the kind comments, by the way, it's always nice to hear from you!! Hank C...

Hank C...
