HOW TO TELL THE TRUTH AND GET IN TROUBLE

I am a fourth-generation dairy farmer and cattle rancher. I grew up on a dairy farm in Montana, and I ran a feedlot operation there for twenty years. I know firsthand how cattle are raised and how meat is produced in this country.
Today I am president of Earth Save International, an organization promoting organic farming and the vegetarian diet.
Sure, I used to enjoy my steaks as much as the next guy. But if you knew what I know about what goes into them and what they can to do you, youd probably be a vegetarian like me. And, believe it or not, as a pure vegetarian now who consumes no animal products at all, I can tell you these days I enjoy eating more than ever.
If youre a meat-eater in America, you have a right to know that you have something in common with most of the cows youve eaten. Theyve eaten meat, too.
When a cow is slaughtered, about half of it by weight is not eaten by humans: the intestines and their contents, the head, hooves, and horns, as well as bones and blood. These are dumped into giant grinders at rendering plants, as are the entire bodies of cows and other farm animals known to be diseased. Rendering is a $2.4 billion-a-year industry, processing forty billion pounds of dead animals a year. There is simply no such thing in America as an animal too ravaged by disease, too cancerous, or too putrid to be welcomed by the all-embracing arms of the renderer. Another staple of the renderers diet, in addition to farm animals, is euthanized pets - the six or seven million dogs and cats that are killed in animal shelters every year. The city of Los Angeles alone, for example, sends some two hundred tons of euthanized cats and dogs to a rendering plant every month. Added to the blend are the euthanized catch of animal control agencies, and road kill. (Road kill is not collected daily, and in the summer, the better road kill collection crews can generally smell it before they can see it.) When this gruesome mix is ground and steam-cooked, the lighter, fatty material floating to the top gets refined for use in such products as cosmetics, lubricants, soaps, candles, and waxes. The heavier protein material is dried and pulverized into a brown powder-about a quarter of which consists of fecal material. The power is used as an additive to almost all pet food as well as to livestock feed. Farmers call it protein concentrates. In 1995, five million tons of processed slaughterhouse leftovers were sold for animal feed in the United States. I used to feed tons of the stuff to my own livestock. It never concerned me that I was feeding cattle to cattle.

I do not hear any of you weeping for the farmers/ranchers that this monster of corporate agriculture was screwing when the trouble started in the early 80's taking their farms

@smp156 I absolutely agree with U. It's very profitable to keep this dirty little secret. A recent report discussing Alzheimers stated, scientists believe the rogue protein they identified in the brain may share characteristics with the prion proteins which cause vCJD. Of course they say they can't identify what could be causing this. I don't know about U but doesn't this just jump out and scream don't eat meat. Many Alzheimers cases could be CJD & that can only be confirmed after autopsy.

Wow, very powerful documentary. But what sickens me is to know that the power mongers behind the agricultural businesses and the bastards who are genetically modifying our produce are in bed with the dirty politicians and they meet up at places like the Bohemian Grove to participate in weird Satanic type rituals and they're all pushing for this totalitarian New World Order government. Our only hope is for everyone to wake the fuck up and stop doing business with these "people."

@andrea202197 Yes we agree that humans need to be un brainwashed and stop eating meet. Yes I agree that humans are not meant to eat animals at a soul level either. If people learn to love and accept themself for who they are then they will be able to love and accept others and there would be less war and violence. Do you love and accept yourself?

@SpaceWalkTraveller We agree that we are not mean't to eat animals. Take a look into Human Design, just the basics and understand yourself at the soul level. Once you understand yourself at the soul(energy) level; you will understand yourself in ways you can't even imagine. We don't need to save the animals, they can take care of themselves. We need to UN-BRAINWASH the human race! Saving the animals will happen automatically after people are programmed properly!

I love nature too much to destroy it. I respect animals and the environment and I also respect myself.

@SpaceWalkTraveller "Jesus Christ" will never show up. We need people to ask themselves if they have it within themselves to kill another animal. Its as simple as that! So.. do you have the killing instinct within yourself? Do you have the balls to kill another animal and eat it raw like a true carnivore?

@kimberlily1983 Our survival as a species does depend on it, its about people being concerned about our health and resources. Much of th world is westernizing, you can imagine when india and china begin to live more like the US how much resources will be used to feed 3 billion people like the luxury foods americans eat. Not just 3 billion people, but billions and billions of animals will need to be fed to live like us too. The amount of meat we eat is not sustainable with our global population.
