Blue Swingin' Mama is a 50s rockabilly style rock 'n roll tune at its finest. Written by Larry Dowd and recorded by Larry Dowd and the Rock-A-Tones (a Des Moines, Iowa area band), their record did very well around the country. The Rock-A-Tones consisted of Larry Dowd who sang and played rhythm guitar, Ivan Rousseau who played lead guitar, Don Archer who played Fender bass, Mickey Montgomery who played piano and Ron Fiscel who played drums. These musicians were truly rock 'n roll pioneers. We hope we did their song justice.
Hi Kelly - In answer to your question, my great-great-great-great grandfather was a cabinetmaker in Hagerstown, Maryland during the eighteenth century. He made tall clocks (I have always called them grandfather clocks). I am honored to have one of the clocks he made in my home.
Thanks for your comments regarding the video and the music. I have a lot of fun puttings these videos together.

Hi Bob ... Thanks for your comments regarding the video. I appreciate it very much. I have a lot of fun putting these videos together. I met and became good friends with Larry in 2005. He was diagnosed with cancer not long after. It was a shame that he left our world. - Mike

I played in a band with Larry in late 1960/ early 1961 and learned a lot from him about the music business.
