Walking Room

Il lavoro si ricollega alla video performance di Bruce Nauman, Bouncing Two Balls Between the Floor and Ceiling with Changing Rhythms, realizzata dall'artista a cavallo tra il 1967 e il 1968.
Collettivo Ubique ha ricreato una stanza d'ufficio in penombra. Un centinaio di palline da ping pong sono state sparse sul pavimento.
I fruitori venivano fatti entrare uno per volta nella stanza.
Il visitatore si ritrovava solo nella semioscurità e, fermandosi, sentiva il suono di una pallina in uno degli angoli della sala. Come si muoveva per dirigersi verso il suono, tornava il silenzio, fino a che il visitatore non si fermava nuovamente. Il suono cambiava sempre angolo di provenienza, in modo da spingere il fruitore a camminare per la stanza alla ricerca della presunta pallina. Il gioco tra suono e fruitore diventava così un dialogo.

Collettivo Ubique arranged a room as an office, in semi-darkness. A hundred ping pong balls were scattered on the floor.
People were allowed to enter one by one.
The visitor was alone in the gloom, and standing there could hear the sound of bouncing balls coming from one of the room's corners. Starting moving to follow the sound, it stopped and started again when the visitor stopped in his turn. The sound always changed corner to stimulate people to walk across the room looking for an invisible ball. The game between visitor and sound then became a dialogue.
