it goes both ways its a multicultural community now. for the first this music are very much from southern morocco from very close comunitys. the singing goes with the wind kind of tone. the music spread down and this singing is very much now the only genre of singing in mauritania. SO ITS NOT YOURS AND SECOND ALL OF NORTH AFRICA DOWN TO MALI AND NIGER WAS CALLED MOROCCO UNTIL THE WEST CUT IT UP LIKE A CAKE!

@dogsoldierhamza my father is toureg but still i cant feel what you saying. if you brung islam to morocco. you have to have comed from arab countrys. im a real tuareg in morocco. dont hate on morocco for the last time it cant be called western sahara as a country. now its named morocco as well. like all other countrys got thru war. we are the same people i cant understand. the moors was like 90% berber 10% arab and blacks. the hole north africa was named morocco for thousands of years.

dare ni say i have never heard such style of music except in the western sahara and i think its unique to this region.slight similarities ive heard when listening to some music in it cafe in uk owned and frequented by somali people .i am always eager to learn so i keep an open mind hope this assists somewhat in the argument..........
