@MrJimRichey Bryant is one of the top universities in the Northeast, with thousands of applicants turned away every year. My daughter recently graduated from Bryant. She got a great education, and had a wonderful experience at Bryant.
If we could do it all over again we wouldn't change a thing. President Machtley is an outstanding person and leader who has done amazing things at Bryant. I only hope he stays on as President for many more years.

Mr. Machtley has no interest in or talent for academics or curriculum. Universities survive and even thrive under such leaders because the average tenure of a college president is 6 years. After 15 years of Mr. Machtley, Bryant barely manages to maintain their accreditations. The business dean actually bragged in a faculty meeting that Bryant had been reaccredited by the AACSB while meeting only the barest minimum academic standards. He was actually proud of his brinksmanship!

Ron Machtley has made his living on charm but his attitudes toward women are strictly 19th century. 80% of the Board of trustees are men. All the deans and all the assistant deans are men. Well over 90% of the top management are men. Women faculty members are paid substantially less than male faculty members at the same rank. The overwhelming majority of faculty members turned down for promotion are women.
Mr. Machtley, the best way to take Bryant to the next level is for you to resign.
