Narcissists are often vindictive and they often stalk and harass. Basically, there are only two ways of coping with vindictive narcissists: frighten them or lure them.

@trinzia My husband and I fully sympathize with you. We tried 'scaring' our scarey NPD and his accomplices and minimizing--estranging, actually, from them--but it backfired on us when the NPD and his 'supply' turned our daughter against us. We haven't given up hope, so don't you give up hope. There just has to be an empathetic pony, somewhere, in this pile of narcissistic manure.

My father-in-law (a sociology professor emeritus) is a malignant narcissist. My husband and I thought we'd rid ourselves of him and his 'accomplice supply' with written threats to sue for slander, get a restraining order, and publish it in local news. First, we felt safe, now the Vin Narc and his Accompl Supp turned our daughter against us, manipulating her to emulate our estrangement from them by convincing her to estrange from us. Please teach on what to do if N's play divide & conquer. Thanks!

Do you think that a mother with NPD would attempt to run away with the children, if frightened? Is there a way to minimize the damage a narcissistic mother does, when she has shared 50% custody by law? Our household is trapped by this woman, an extreme case of NPD, and we've been suffering her abuse for years. Scaring her seems to have risks, we cannot minimize contact, and luring her would make us ill. Thanks!
