old time tune, banjo tuned to open C, thanks to ikelejoie for figuring out what it was--now I just wish I could figure out where I learned it!

  • Could it be a variation of "Shavin a dead man"?

  • This does not sound like the "Rights of man" I have heard, which is an Irish hornpipe often played in the US. (Can be found in Ken Perlmans classic clawhammer book I think) Might of course be a different tune with the same name or a variation? Great tune and very well played regardless of what it is called :)

  • Thanks! It doesn't sound like any other version I've heard of "Rights of Man" either. It would help if I could remember where I learned this. I LOVE the Ken Perlman book on melodic clawhammer banjo.
