Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) speaks at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, March 27th, 2011

Bruce Dickinson of Iron maiden explains why the band could not finish the set in Rio de Janeiro on March 27th, 2011 at the HSBC Arena. The show was cancelled due to the collapsing of the front barrier. There was much protest since many people would not be able to attend the concert the following day (many fans are not even from Rio and already had plane tickets bought for the next day).

Added Info: I've noticed some people have blamed the audience for breaking the barrier. Please note that it wasn't the crowd's fault. The promoters of the event decided to save some money by using an old, second-rate barrier, which was not fit to be used in that concert. This situation was remedied the next day when a different barrier was used, much more solid, which was set up with the help of Rio de Janeiro firemen crew. Please note that the fans are the victims here, for they paid over USD 200 to watch a concert that did not happen.

On another note, the crowd was booing the promoters' lack of competence, not Bruce's decision to postpone the concert. Many were not be able to attend the concert on a different date. That this happened was the promoters' fault, hence the booing.

It's how Brazilian Portuguese speakers pronounce his name when screaming, because they see the word as having two syllables ("bru-ce", which becomes "bru say" when they put emphasis on it), when they should sream "broos, broos" instead. So no, no one uttered any bad words towards Bruce. Why would they? The man is loved in BR.

Chances are, Brazilians don't even know what "Looser" means. If they meant "loser", they would pronounce it with a Z for sure (it's the Spanish who don't have the sound). No bad words in this video, except for the ones in Portuguese directed at the redhead. :-)

Why is Bruce being sorry? These pricks broke the barrier. Any other band in the world would have gone home. Bruce even came on stage to take the blame. Changing thir schedule by staying another day would have cost Maiden a LOT of money. Learn how to behave in concerts idiots, this is not the way you go crazy, you don't break stuff. Congrats, you ruined for everybody.
