its crazy to hear the real story behind the the wayne county reck. i was at English town to see the mopars and to hear what happened to them it made me sick. They were the best and i still have that 88 MOPAR daytona picture in my shop. its a real shame they could have broke records
it should be no rules at all. bring what you got and race it. every week on nascar and nhra its the same dam winners. mutli car teams and the high dollar teams win. its so unfair now days.
Does anybody seriously expect Dave Koffel, or anybody associated with Wayne County to come out and say anything BUT that they weren't cheating? I don't think so. Too much of THEIR stories didn't hold water. I was as big a fan of WC and D.A / S.G. as anyone, but when you look at the facts it is hard to deny that they were not legit.
@DavidW2340 Yeah but its cool that he's back in the sport. I cant remember the team he's with (I want to say Stanfield) but I met him in Phoenix in 2008.....ironically waiting to talk to Warren Johnson, He seems like a pretty cool guy
@DavidW2340 Well I guess it makes sense in what you said....I guess I should look at the Johnson's today how theyve fallen off so much in a few seasons after being so dominate for two decades.
And funny you mention Jerry Eckman because I was reading a story about Jerry Eckman awhile ago it sounded like Jerry just got screwed by his crew chief and car owner. Same as Alderman & Geoffrion who seemed like nice guys
no you can't go back to "old" setups.using outdated info / setups in prostock don't work so well.. even using "last years" setup would be a huge setback in competition.. probably couldnt even qualify..what he did is distribute cocaine to afford all of his quality fresh parts and r&d .. hes not jerry eckman. he wasn't scrounging up money before races trying to piece together a sour prostock motor and hadda try and sneak in some squeeze in the oil pan to make up for a poor motor..
The only question that I have is that if it were really a sabatoge and if it was somebody really breaking in and destroying the motors is that how come they fell off so much. I mean I can understand falling off a little with new equipment and figuring that out but couldnt of they gone back to old setups and what not and still have been a very good team. Im mean they fell off so fast
I always knew the GM camp cheated and the officials looked the other way because of big dollar sponsorship from GM. So they villified the Mopar camp since they were the ones to beat. You can confirm that the GM cars were spraying nitrous because of the mile per hour vs elapsed time. Nitrous cars always had high mile per hour vs elapsed time. Thanks for confirming my suspicions,as I was a big pro stock racing fan since the 80's and 90's.
