i'm male in the army. if this was implemented there needs to be strict guidelines on sexual assault and the "rights" of non-males. if u r military you know that shower bays are open and most latrines don't even have walls between the toilets. I'm not anti-gay but i don't want a gay man looking at me. that's why it is don't ask don't tell. you will be discriminated against. keep fighting for your rights if that's what you want.

You don't know the real truth because if you did, in 2003, you would have been: sitting in the corner of your protected home, crying, and hoping the president goes to Iraq to save your glutes (ok, maybe you wouldnt have been crying). It's not about gay people being "different" from everyone else; it's about their safety. In liberal areas of the globe it's, "ok to be gay"; historically speaking, the military is not liberal. Brad the colon comrade, Matt the butt pirate, etc, will be the target after a few beers and a splash of PTSD (no pun intended).
