  • I really love this Austen nigth!!!!

I wish i had this kind of nigth at my College, but, even knowing many Austen fans here in Brasil, i've never heard that at some place was going to have an Austen nigth.....

    It's an idea....i can begin one!!!!kkkkkkkkk

  • Sorry, I have been busy thinking of what to do next....so I have not been looking at my channel. But I do enjoy knowing that my professor will have influenced you to start your own Austen night. She will be thrilled when I tell her.

  • nice classical music in the backround, who is it?

  • its the classical violin concertos of Joan Sebastian Bach. I was so happy I found this music, I think it definitly gives it the austen feel

  • most infinately so! i'm busy writing my MA dissertation on Emma by Jane Austen. Augusta Elton is being quite a nuissance on my delicate nerves!

  • I love Jane Austen too. Men read her to try to understand women, I think.

    I know I do.

  • I miss my jane Austen Seminar from last semester! sounds really similar to this

  • more to the point at the risk of being called "sexist" I'd argue the best readings of Austen have been done by men Farrar Trilling --she became sex marked in the last 30 years--and has been reduced to romantic comedy--Raymond Williams and others read her seriously.

  • Real Men Read Jane Austen is so true. I love her books just like I like The Brotherhood of War books; and I love the movies based on her books, alongside other guy movies. I even like some of the new novels like Mr. Darcy's Diary and re-make movies like Clueless and Bride & Prejudice. In my opinion, movies like Somewhere in Time and Purple Hearts, a big-time love story, of a nurse and a doctor serving in Vietnam could never have been made if it was not for her impact on the art of the novel.

  • I always claimed that a real man reads Jane Austen.... I love westerns, John Wayne and Dirty Harry; I got my MA in a military school and I'm currently a Ph.D candidate with a dissertation on Strategic Thought and.... I ADORE JANE AUSTEN!!! I even purchased a doll-action figure of her....

  • Susi96 - Fantastic! I wish I had school occasion to report on Austen!

MetaMorphy: at least if Miss Austen disapproved of you so, she would have stated her sentiments in a much more gentle manner!

  • I LOVE AUSTENS WORK. IM A REAL MAN lolol xoxo

  • ooohh, biya, you did not just say that! first of all, being glad ANYONE is dead just aint cool..

and.. this is JANE AUSTEN!! writes better than any old crap comment you could write..
