yes they r reloads, but we found exactually the perfect tempature so all heat looks like smoke, it was quite cold out

Or using target rounds because theyre cheaper,...no reason to shoot expensive ammo for plinking.

@TerrorC18Machine black powder ammo would cycle like that, it would delay not alot but enough to notice

@LloydBanks1636 You are right about that! The last GC I shot straight out of the box was was nowhere near as well mannered as my older model but it only took a few hours to bring it up to par. If you can hold this pistol well it will group around 1 inch at 25yds. I have only owned a few revolvers that could come close!!

@LloydBanks1636 I don't know about the nothing fancy part. No other Colt .45ACP I have ever owned would feed empty cases. My 1978 Gold Cup will with standard stainless factory magazines. I currently have two Combat Commanders, an all steel frame, and an alloy frame as well as a Delta Elite and none will come close to the Gold Cup for accuracy or ease of shooting. It does prefer Winchester ammo over other brands for accuracy.

I love this gun. Nothing fancy, nothing out of the movies. a 45 ACP will kill a person. No questions asked...Period.

Just bought a Colt Gold Cup and I can tell you why he is getting so much smoke. He bought Federal brand ammo from wal mart like I did, and that nasty smokey dirty ammunition caused all that smoke. I GOT THE SAME CRAP WHEN I SHOT IT.

After shooting it I vowed never ever to use Federal ammo, especially after shooting a box I bought from the range I was at that was clean and zero smoke.
