Live in Sweden, February or March 1980.

Bobby Osborne - mandolin
Sonny Osborne - banjo
Paul Brewster - guitar
Jimmy D. Brock - bass

From a VHS tape with realy bad quality, the guy that "panic" recorded it from TV had inserted the first available tape he found and there is probably some material missing in the begining of the show.

  • I'm from West Virginia born and bred love those good old country roads they may be rocky rough and steep but they'll get ya home. My Kin folk settled in West Virginia in 1730 before West Virginia was even a state and we've been here ever since, wouldn't wanna live anywhere else, i love West Virginia and we've got the best moonshine around!!

  • You just want to sing along ^^

  • good song... so much bass in this version haha

  • Do love John Denver, but you can't beat those harmonies. Amazing...

  • I have had the privilege of seeing Bobby and Sonny perform several times. They are both great musicians and their harmony is fantastic. Sonny can hit licks on that banjo that just amazes me.

  • it's funny to watch Sonny look at Bobby it's like he never gets tired of hearing him sing.

  • @CTN1995 I think he did it just for fun you had to know how he was back then. He was a big "cut-up" and liked to laugh.

  • Shit Kickers!!!!

  • @ilovechugs Yeah... I guess I should have included a few others here in my "clueless" assessment. After coming back and listening to this afresh, it's CLEAR you're not a banjo player, and probably not very well-versed in bluegrass music, period... because no one who knows shyatt about bluegrass is going to criticize Sonny's playing on this cut. He was at the top of his game during this period. So, have fun listening to OCMS and Wagon Wheel, or whatever music you actually know something about.

  • @FlyingTiger64 Absolutely. Sonny was awesome! Got to see them perform several times.

  • beautiful, i miss home, deep in the eastern mountains of ky....i will return....this is so awsome

  • @FlyingTiger64 Relax. I should have said "IN MY OPINION". I don't think it matters if i play banjo or not...i know what sounds good. Apparently i'm not too far off if other people are agreeing that parts of it were "a bit sloppy" or that "its not a banjo tune"..even you said he may have "intonation issues".. which made his pickin', not as impressive (in my opinon) as the rest of the band. I'm not saying he's bad and certainly not saying i didn't enjoy the song. - Cheers
