9 minutes is actually pretty quick logtang to start a fire, provided that he did have to set up the materials.

One tip put it on the ground so it's more steady then pick it up when you need to

wow ummm... first of its easy to spot to dot you want it about as small as the end of a pencil (none sharpened end) if not smaller (once you get to a certain point it doesn't work )
Also instead of getting all that crap together just find some dry grass... just this morning i went out found some dry grass and used magnifying glass to light it. Took maybe 2 - 3 minutes max... though i have done it in little over a minute before

what you do is take a piece of newspaper, crumple it, set it on the ground with some twigs under it. (maybe some dried leaves), and then you do is try to make the point of light as small as possible by raising the magnifier

I tried it before with a plastic cheap magnifying glass and got fire. I had hay and some dry leaves. I tried more after that but all i got was smoke.

All you need to do if find some messed up old paper from ground, Then make it fluffy by rubbing it on the street or something then burn it using magnifin glass. Should get it to smoulder
