"And Now the Lord to Rest is Laid" and "Here Yet Awhile" conclude the 1986 Good Friday rendition of J. S. Bach's "The Passion of Our Lord According to St. Matthew" by the Bethany Oratorio Society in Lindsborg, Kansas.

The work has been performed every Good Friday since 1929 in Presser Hall on the campus of Bethany College. The Society has also performed Handel's "Messiah" during Holy Week since 1882. Dr. Elmer Copley was principal conductor between 1961 and 1988.

The soloists are Rebecca Copley, soprano; Barbara Conrad, alto; Grayson Hirst, tenor; Herbert Eckhoff, bass; and Glenn Litke, additional bass.

  • What ?Catholic church does not accept salvation in Jesus alone. They say good work mixed in to gain salvation.Meaning Jesus only died for orginal sin our other sins require works. Then we are still not cleansed until we go to purgatory. Now if you think that being a christian you need to get saved yourself ...
