do you know why he smiles? because you are an idiot. would you normally walk down the street, see a police officer and randomly ask for his badge number for no reason? probably not. if anyone could ask for a badge number randomly that officer risks people asking for numbers and reporting cops for no reason (which i wouldn't put past people like yourselves) it's a way of protecting himself and his job.
