Everyone saying that it isn't safe to use touchscreens in a car must have forgot that this is a Volvo, so even if you take your eyes off the road for a minute you won't die. I mean now the Volvos brake when you don't, warn you when ever you cross a line without using turn indicators, tell you if you should rest etc... And this Volvo belongs to the future so who knows what it'll do. Even if you do crash, they're so damn safe that you'll only get a couple of bruises.

@AvedisIzmirlian It was just an example of things of that size you can put in there..

@sklaterjd Is anything new automatically better? In the 50s plastic was all the rage as the futuristic "space-age" material, and people thought anything made out of plastic was superior. Like plastic furniture. Until people realized that plastic furniture was cheap and crappy. Who would rather have a kitchen table and chairs made out of plastic instead of wood?
And why aren't we wearing polyester or plastic clothes? Cotton cloth is B.C. technology.

@needstoregister And I would much rather take a horse then one of them wheeled machines. I would rather have my phone connected by a wire, thank you very much.

Buicks had touch screens to replace all controls in the 80s... it's not that new. Anyway, I'd much rather have physical knobs, switches, and gauges, thank you very much.

I want this in my XC90. Now.

@AvedisIzmirlian Cool factor. You can control various elements of the car via the pad.
Yes but will it blend?
