  • The complete film from which this clip is excerpted, "Overture to Glory," is available on DVD (in Yiddish, with English sub-titles). You can Google "Overture to Glory," if you want to find a supplier of the DVD.

  • How many of these in the movie were alive a few years later... How completely poignant... Thank you.

  • The most beautiful rendering of Kol Nidre I have heard. Oysher was truly a giant. It strill brings tears to me eyes every time I hear it.

  • does anyone know how I can see this whole movie?

  • 1939! Vilna! Terrible...

  • what movieis thie from?

  • Thank-you. So beautiful!

  • So wonderful! Knowing many of the others, mostly from recordings, this is the one from the heart, the one that rings most true to the Kol Nidres of my childhood in the first half of the last century. Forget the tragic movie ending; it is the singing that is exquisite and heart rending

  • Thank you - this is so beautiful
