No matter how nice and "realistic" graphics or modern gameplay technique, what makes Doom damn good is because its main core its about Fast Action with the occasionally clever use of Monster infighting and any enemy is a danger and also any weapons in the game are "useful" for example a Berkser Packed doomguy can kill another doomguy armed with an BFG during Death Match. It's all about pure real skill and how you navigate yourself.

The sooner John Carmack & Co. released D3, this should have been the FIRST thing that came to their minds as a mod: Remaking the entire Classic DOOM saga (all of D1 and D2, and maybe Final DOOM) with the D3 engine. Whoever did this deserves to be part of the next DOOM project over there at Id.
