Michael Janich presents the new Spyderco Warrior fixed blade. He shares details about the design's history, technical features, the sheath and the knife's MBC applications. I'm sorry about the crappy sound, it's the best my camcorder could do.

  • He was really innovative when it came to fighting with edged weapons. RIP.

  • @pervertedpenguin69 You're referring to Michael Echanis, right?

  • @Nicsolo22 A little under 6 inches

  • The Warrior is made of H1 steel good for rustproofing but wouldnt it be softer then VG10, S30V or 154CM ? especially since its made for tactical purposes? Would it hold an edge as good as the above steels? Thanks.

  • @valonho Nope, edgeholding isn't as good as the other steels you mentioned. The trade-off is that H1 is easier to sharpen. Plus, hardness increases when it's sharpened more - it's a work hardened steel. I'm not sure how H1 rates on impact resistance.

  • Is it comfortable to hold this knife in forward grip? Cause i'm not often training with the reversed grip...

  • @Roystonc1997 I only handled the Spyderco Warrior on a few occasions. It works in forward grip, but a Temperance 2 is much more 'comfortable' in a forward grip.

  • this guy is very comfortable with this knife.well done knife demo and history lesson all in one and he talked fast enough to keep me interested lol

  • Does anybody know if the Hwa Rang Do guys ever published a manual on how to use this blade? If I'm getting one, want to be able to wield it properly.

  • @Spydercollector yes he was genius

  • Good point Spy...Sal Glesser President of Spyderco says in nutnfancy review of the Warrior that he has samples of Salt H1knives that were bent 90degrees n didnt break. I guess since the Warrior was requested to be made by Guy Rafaeli from the Israeli military for their soldiers, Yes H1 doesnt hold an edge better then above steels but its toughness, unbreakability n ease of sharpening according to Sal is probably why they chose H1. Wish we could get some feedback from Rafaelis' soldiers ! Thanks

  • Could somebody tell me the approximate length of the blade?
