As Americans sip designer lattes, Ethiopian coffee growers struggle against bankruptcy, earning only a fraction of their beans' worth. BLACK GOLD follows one man's fight for a fair price, exposing the truths behind the buying, selling and consuming of one of the world's most traded commodities.
BLACK GOLD premieres Tuesday, April 10 on Independent Lens, a weekly series airing on PBS. Hosted by Terrence Howard, the acclaimed series showcases powerful and innovative independent films. Presented by ITVS, Independent Lens is broadcast on PBS stations nationwide.
