  • @ChickenVendetta Sorry if I'm being nit-picky, but the reality is this is being mixed to two tracks (L and R stereo). Also, this is a legit way to record, usually for "scratch-tracks", what you're thinking of is "step-recording". Also, there's no real doubling, just some light reverb on Max's vocals. I know what you're trying to say, and I agree, Say Anything is a GREAT live band and they perform really well together, but even when you see them "live", there's still production.

  • @JulianDestroya I didn't mean it was all being mixed to one track, I mean that they're playing the song as a band, and not playing each instrument separately; for instance, Max isn't singing 15 different vocal tracks. He's singing one, and even though they're manipulating it by doubling it over and over and panning/FXing each track, he's still only singing one track, and all the chorusing comes from other band members. I'm just trying to say that it shows their skill very well.

  • @ChickenVendetta Yeah they are, how do you think they're recording it at such good sound quality?? It sure as shit wasn't a handy-cam that captured the sound. I know what you're trying to say, but this is a studio performance, which means there is going to be quite a bit of productions i.e. the reverb on the vocals, blending of the drums, instrument panning, hell, even how the room is acoustically treated.

Don't misunderstand though, I'm taking NOTHING away from Say Anything.

  • @JulianDestroya Yeah, but it's all in a full band setting. They're not multitracking or anything, and that's really impressive as far as I'm concerned. It proves they can actually blend, unlike a lot of bands today.

  • @ChickenVendetta Believe it or not there's quite a bit of production here already.

  • The best
