Maniac Nag is excellent ! Is he alive?

man I wish i could get paid to play indian instruments in pajamas... that old man can shred haha

Superb playing. There is no doubt that he sits with Pt. Nikhil Banerjee and others and is playing so clean that you can hear every note. Most sitar players mumble up the notes and it shows the amount of Riyaz they have done.
Pt. Manilal Nag is a great sitar player but alas we are dominated by only Ravi Shankar where he took every opportunity to become famous in the West.
I keep on nudging people and introduce many good sitar players but his name is very popular in USA.

Thanks so much for posting this.
I was very lucky to see Manilal Nag and his daughter, Mita, who is a fine sitar player too, in a mandir here in Toronto a few years ago. It was one of the best sitar concerts I have ever been to.
Thanks once again for posting this.

Awesome video. The Woman in the center really steals the show.

I have always found Manilal Nag's playing very tidily structured and well laid out.

Was the lady-the taanpura player, starved for three nights before coming to accompanying Mani ???? Or is she a drug addict???

Beautiful! They play together like twins. Thank you.
Great stuff. Manilal Nag is awesome, I have seen him live few times. He is up there with Nikhil Banerjee, Ravi Shankar but he is so underrated!!
