After a surgical procedure to remove her parasitic twin, three-year-old Lakshmi's recovery appears to be going remarkably well.

  • poor kid. imagine how scary this must be for her.

  • Um...it was her father who said that. He's a poor person from a rural area who probably hasn't had the best education. They're hindus, and they probably hold some traditional beliefs that aren't rational in today's world. Try to get the facts straight before you call someone a "retard". Otherwise, your finger points back at yourself.

  • @cupidsdelite I have to agree!! I live in the U.S. and here people who are different are often stared at, reviled and treated like outcasts. My disability is no where near as visible as her's and I have gone through some really rough times. I would take being treated as a goddess to being treated like something you scrape off your shoe any day.

  • She was named after a goddess with the same number of limbs as she was born with. You can make fun if you want, but usually in poorer countries, people with deformities are ridiculed, ostracized, mistreated and never receive the help they need or deserve. Better she be equated to a goddess than treated that way.

  • @conguera I am glad that the girl survived, but i find it quite stupid that many hindus believe everything different is a God

  • referring a half child attached to another as a parasite sounds awkward.

  • wat happen to the headless twin?

  • She's totally a goddess. She got surgery and recovered because she willed it so. Makes perfect sense.

  • Okay, I understand.

  • Some of people in this world still dwelling in the past.

  • religion = blah blah blah

  • LOL that proves she is a goddess.....ITS CALLED THE HUMAN BODY and its way of adapting and evolving to not be the weakest link
