America's decline started with LBJ's Great Society Programs which increased government dependence and drained the gold supply to point that Nixon took the US off the gold standard. When Nixon ended the Gold Standard the USA suffered massive inflation and stagflation in the 1970s. Do not get me wrong the Civil Rights Acts were great but the post-Civil Rights Acts required real economic growth not government dependence

For a "rightwing ignoramus", Archie Bunker sure called the following decades amazingly well! Much of what he said could be applied to 2013 without changing a comma!

Of course, the GOP played some part in this mess too. We should have elected Ron Paul last year.
