A short film showing trains on the Midland Main Line.

High Speed Train in Intercity Swallow liver, class 319 trains in Network Southeast livery (look carefully at their pantographs!) and a freight train hauled by a class 47 diesel engine.

The location is near the southern end of the MML where it is located alngside the M1 motorway, and traffic noise can be heard in the background.

  • Was this filmed just off from Apex Corner? Great footage!

  • @IanJD1905

Yes - either that or somewhere very near there.

  • I looked at the pantongraphs and didnt get it, was it coz some were slightly different?

  • @glitch4465 On one of the 319 units the pantograph looks like it is folded down!

  • I think the location was Edgware Way/Watford Bypass on the A41.

  • @antjeisback

Probably it was, as I often passed through that area.

  • Aww the beautiful Intercity trains, how I remember them as a young boy, when I was about to board one I knew I was going on a long journey.

  • Nice videos! It is nice to see the Class 319's all in one sensible livery.
