@Snarfbargler Hey snarf Yes I agree ski racing gives us best overall picture to try to acheive. To always ski with a wide stance though is not always desirable and the best skiers like level IV Josh Foster and Thomas Grandi can use a wide or narrow stance to adapt to changes in terrain.
Hermann Maier was a gorby ski instructor and I think his dad still runs a ski school, you should see him in powder and bumps

Take it easy guys, just having a little fun. Gorby was a term we used back in the racing days to describe the 'ski school' style. There's 3 distinct styles of 'good' skiiers. 1:ski school 2:racer 3:freestyle (guys that spend most of their time skiing backwards for some reason.) From a style standpoint I think racers have the best style even when they're freeskiing. It's more aggresive, body forward facing downhill, stance a little wider.
snarf you muppet. first of all thomas grandi is a racer, slightly different objective, he's going very fast, needs wide stance for stability at speed. and this was josh's audition to replace rob butler, he won by the way! and snarf, yeah you couldn't keep with josh on the best day of your life, have a little think before you write stuff down for all to read next time, so you're not the gorb! (what's a gorb?!)
HAHA! Very Ron Butler. Is that the top of that new run next to Goats Kick? This is great instruction if you wanna ski like a gorby! Why do ski intructors keep their feet so close together? Does Thomas Grandi keep his feet together like a gorb?

This is very Rob Butler! Nice work! I liked the phrase turning into balance vs. turning out of balance.
