Note the glove. Keeps your hand from being turned into hamburger.

Whoa nice engine! But jease mister you had me nearvous when you moved the prop with your hand. I had a friend that ignited the glow plug on an rc pLANE, and all the sudden it fired and hit his hand. He never touched the propeler, it started because the engine happened to be on the compression stroke, so when he put the glow igniter on the plug, it ignited the fuel in the cylinder which caused him a great deal of pain when the propeller hit his hand. Please be more carefull.

@JOCKATEO that was a rotory engine- not wankel rotary but like WWI airplane rotary engines. It looked like a radial engine, but the crankshaft was stationary and the crankcase and cylinders all spun. Google it. Pretty interesting design.

@1975Amcpacer I had that happen once when i was running a thin carbon prop. It sliced roughly 1-2cm into my hand. turns out the chances of it happening are 1 to 100 million

love the mini technology. But the cost is well beyond what most rc hobby peeps can endure. None the less, it's wonderful to view this vid.

how about building this in a small motorcycle?
The engine was mounted and started as it came out of the factory box. As it turns out, the valve adjustments on every cylinder was badly out of specification. This I believe now was the reason for the very difficult starting. The engine has been completely torn apart and overhauled after only one hours running time. After 3 1/2 years it is now back together and will be test run again this Summer, 2010.

xKmotx, I enjoyed watching this; I always enjoy seeing/hearing a fine-tuned engine running, especially a miniature radial engine like yours...I'm guessing it's expensive, correct?

hovanti, this engine is the lowest cost commercially available model radial. Currently selling for between $1228 and $1477 in Germany and England, respectively.
