I just have the same tactic as yours,
Put those cohorts on the two sides into two thick lines on left and right to slow down the ambush by the Gaul in the forests and then group my cavalries together and move them to the one flank of the Gaul army which is marching downhill to your army.
When the Gaul army has been mixed with your cohorts,it's the time to charge your cavalry into the gaul army which is supposed to be downhill now.Make sure your army must not be wasted on those enemies who flee.
