  • If we manipulate domestic policies to match foreign circumstances, we might be caught in the same trap that Pai says China is. Besides we cannot play with livelihoods as China does. Its not doable in a democracy.

  • Defence has worked alright for us in the past. If its not broken, lets not attempt to fix it. What opportunities is he talking about? Let us keep foreign influences out, so we can focus on our own problems.

  • lol where does he get off? mr pai is seeing global opportunities but his knowledge of structural impotencies is deficient in character and substance. foreign policy alone isn't ever going to dictate labor laws in any sensible democracy, let alone our postcolonial "jugaad", and increasing specialization or the number of foreign service employees has nothing to do with effectively using global opportunities to our advantage. a weak analysis plus some hyperbole is all this speech is.

  • This is pretty impressive but to translate it into impact on policy, one must ask as to how good is Takshashila's government interfacing?

  • Good speech and great ideas!
