Archaeoastronomy is the study of how ancient people have understood and used the phenomena in the sky. Archaeoastronomy is not the history of astronomy; In fact it focuses on the cultural and antropoligical aspect of skywaching in the past. This academic field brings together several disciplines such as archaeology, anthropology, astronomy, statistics and probability, mythology, and history. This session is a general introduction to Archaeoastronomy along with discussing about a few examples of the recent work done by scholars in Iran and the World.
