  • Thank you very much!

  • @LukRacer a few seconds before they touch down they up the power.. when they touch down they put full afterburner in case they dont catch the tailhook on the wires.. that way they can take back off if necessary...

if the tailhook catches... once they stop they take down the power, there are no brakes involved in the landing

  • How does the landing actually go?

    Is it :

    1. Tail hook catches the cable

    2. Pilot puts power up

    3. full on the brakes.

    I think it isn't that.

    Can somene please explain?

  • @bignitro50 But its also the heaviest fighter the US Navy has ever had. And its not good for the flight decks today.

  • I miss the F-14 :,-(

  • That is so frickin awesome!! Love to be in a jet when it lands! Or just altogether in a flying jet!

  • there are 3 or 4 cables depending on how big/heavy the aircraft is, or multiple chances at catching them just in case you miss the first time.

  • Man, i wonder how strong and THICK that cable would be!! Good vid!

  • f14 tom catt wooo

  • F-14 ... Great landing!
